Acoem UK
Part of the ACOEM Group, we are committed to sustainable development and helping companies and public authorities limit their environmental impact. We offer products and services that prevent and control air, noise and vibration pollution, increase the productivity and reliability of industrial machinery & contribute to the development of effective, robust & noiseless productsProtect the health of people
We have a continuous air quality monitoring station in Irvine which is serviced and maintained by Air Monitors, delivering extremely high levels of data capture. Since 2015 it has also included a FIDAS 200 particulate monitor, so we are now able to monitor TSP, PM10, PM4, PM2.5, PM1 and Particle Number simultaneously, which provides greater insight into the types of pollution and their likely sources. To complement the AQMS we also operate 4 AQMesh pods which provide the flexibility we need to monitor air quality in precisely the location of greatest importance. Web connectivity combined with Air Monitors’ reliability of service provides us with continuous access to accurate air quality data, which means that we are able to fulfil our statutory obligations as a Council, and also find ways to protect the health of people in North Ayrshire.

High quality instrumentation
Atmospheric chemistry is a major research theme in the University of York’s Department of Chemistry. Much of our work involves field studies, so we have a significant requirement for the latest monitoring technologies, and we routinely source high quality instrumentation from Air Monitors Limited. Good examples of this are the UK’s two possible shale gas sites, where we have been undertaking background air quality monitoring using equipment from Air Monitors for a wide range of gas species and particulates. The monitoring data for these high profile projects are extremely important so it was vital for us to deploy the best technologies and to work with a reliable instrumentation partner.

We have enjoyed a successful partnership with Air Monitors for over 15 years
South Lanarkshire contains both densely populated industrial towns and large rural areas. The main sources of air pollutants are road traffic, industrial sites and fuel combustion. We monitor air quality at seven key locations with continuous monitoring stations, all of which were supplied by Air Monitors. We have enjoyed a successful partnership with Air Monitors for over 15 years.
In addition to supplying our monitoring equipment, they also deliver an ongoing service and maintenance contract, ensuring that our stations provide high levels of data capture. Air Monitors has fitted each station with a weblogger, so that we are able to access continuous online monitoring data, which is also published via www.scottishairquality.co.uk. Our monitoring stations report air quality data for the key pollutants – Nitrogen Oxides and Particulates. However, Air Monitors has equipped six of the stations with the new FIDAS monitors, so those locations are able to report a number of particulate fractions in addition to PM10. The Air Monitors monitoring equipment has proved to be of the highest quality and the ongoing service and support has been excellent.
